What Happened To The 60 Players Drafted Before Austin Reaves

  • We like him because he represents that part of us that actually believes if we "work hard enough" we can play alongside LeBron on the Lakers... Which isn't true for 99.999% of us.
  • He has a very underrated basketball iq. When his on the floor good things happen for L.A. His constantly probing the defence forcing his teammates to move without the ball. Never forces a shot. Great at taking the contact and finishing. The guy is a steal.

Lebron injury was a blessing in disguise for Reaves . He saw the opportunity and took over
  • You simply don’t see young new players like Austin with his type of fearlessness or willingness to take big shots. Kids got a lot of confidence in himself. Game 4 dropped a very quiet 21 vs. Golden State. Love that kid!!
  • I remember watching this dude at OU and saying to my friends he would be a solid nba player. Glad to see him getting recognition.

He said it himself: the Pistons and a few other teams would have drafted him, but he and his agent already had the deal with the Lakers, and they specifically preferred that situation. He told teams, if they drafted him, he would refuse to sign. He and his agent prioritized being in the right situation, especially after being in the wrong place in college, initially. As far as the lack of recruiting out of high school, he said by not playing AAU … it pretty much makes you an unknown quantity. I guess college scouts and coaches only watch the big AAU tournaments, nowadays.

Bought his jersey the other day, the kid’s been one of my favourite players since day 1

Great video I love the way you broke down every player!
  • Man what a great video. Excellent research and presentation covering a large range of players!
  • I’m from Arkansas so I feel very special to say I got to see him play in high school during an invitational tournament Crazy to think this man made it all the way to play with Lebron and be a great role in the NBA

Been watching him since he was on the South Bay Lakers in the G-League. I knew that he was gonna be a solid role player but with how he's playing, he's a solid starter. A lot of casuals (and lowkey racists) say that he's only getting hyped because he's on the Lakers and is white, yet that cannot be further from the truth. Dude is actually a reliable scorer and defender. Not to mention that he's sneaky athletic and has some handles with the ball. The hype is deserved, especially since he's undrafted and was expected to be a benchwarmer. For those that are skeptical, PLEASE do yourself a favor and watch him play.
  • He played better than a lot of first round cats and should be in the first 10 picks.
  • I remember that TCU game as an OU fan, it was Desmond Bane vs Austin Reaves and now both of them are studs in the NBA

Thank you for that luka Garza bit. As a Hawkeye fan, that’s a game breaker waiting to happen. Man has an unblockable deft hook shot from both shoulders
  • I went to UH when quiten grimes was there so he has been one of my favorite players since and definitely a player I will continue to root for
