This is a HUGE loss for TOR. No good GM would consider this seriously.
  • Seattle fan here, Shane Wright is the one untouchable guy on our roster imo. We're looking forward to a full year of Shane at the NHL level next season and the fans would be absolutely furious to see him traded away right now. Other players like Yanni Gourde, Brandon Tanev, and Jamie Oleksiak might be trade options, or Joey Daccord as much as we would hate to see him leave, he's only got 1 year left on his contract and has proved to be too good of a goalie to pay him what he's worth as a backup
  • @TCOSTA96
If I am Toronto, I am only trading off Marner if I have a great trade partner. No need to get rid of a top player in the league for a bag of pucks. There is a reason why Wright is not in the NHL yet
  • @Shakes-P
Marner for Saros and Fabbro - Quinville as next buds Coach
  • @FoodFollow
Add a top pick, since Leafs lack any top ones next year and maybe that would work for the Leafs.
  • @brianvickers828
A 32 year old defenseman and a guy who falling off from a projected 1st overall pick to fourth and still isn’t playing in the nhl. Wow put down the bong. FFS
  • @jlove8445
IF this were to be a trade that came to fruition you’d have to consider Marner’s new cap hit. I’m not sure what Larsson is in line for after his 4M a year expired, let’s say 5M Mitch Marner is seeking between 11.5 - 12.5 a year for 7 probably 8 years, any trade for Larsson and Wright would come with approximately 6 Million in additional cap space. Wright, Knies, Cowan look like the types of players the Leafs need to inject into their lineup also..
  • @GR-bn3xj
If Elias Petterson continues to struggle in the playoffs, Maybe a peterson for Marner trade? Each get a new change of scenery. The money is comparable so It could be a straight up trade
  • @rickyaz8640
Right team, wrong player. Dunn and maybe Raekopf or Firkus. Maybe a 50% retained Gourde. Kraken aren’t going to improve the offense with just Marner. They need Wright, too
  • @TrevorStevens91
Seattle better throw in 1st rounder and 2nd rounder possible late rounder as well
  • @Josh-mh3kl
Leafs need to find a way to bring over the Tanev Brothers.
  • @brianhawes2147
The kraken aren’t the new coyotes! No way this trade happens. Larson has played in every kraken game as far as I know, and wright is the future. Larson = Marner with 50% retained Or Wright = Marner plus 2025 1st round pick Or 2024 1st round pick = Marner Seattle won’t take other teams hand-me-downs for free
  • @ryanjulian4148
I'm in for a NYI. Foremost, a wave of NTC may have a familiar face with Lou Lamoriello and a possible extension. To NYI, F Marner D Liljegren For To Tor, F Nelison D Pulock & Picks 1st/2nd for Leafs to flip for veteran goalie. Take on Nelison $6m for one more year in hopes of team friendly to replace Bertuzzi, lock in on Domi. NYI needs more ice and money to sign Dodson, Marner has enough talent to get them to the playoffs, which NYI has trouble taking that next step. This would also put the Leafs into the Guentzel sweepstakes, too .
  • @darylhen1604
Shane Wright will be great. Wright, Cowan, Knies and Minten will be wonderful young talent.
  • @komirules
So if you are trading Marner for a bust than you should gladly take the better package of norlnder, Barron, ylonen and Anderson/gally/ and the jets first for Marner.
