The people of Hyrule have always worked together to take down an evil threat, but what if they didn't? What if instead they each wanted to rule the kingdom, and turned against each other! Today I'll be comparing the armies of the Zora, Goron, Gerudo, Hylians, Sheikah, Rito and Yiga to see who would come out on top! Is it who you thought it would be?

I was fully expecting the Koroks to win since you didn't mention them when listing the races and you giving them a symbol like the other races in the simulation. Like, there's over a thousand of them, and they're clearly immortal considering they've survived everything Link has thrown at them. Not to mention the Great Deku Tree with it's mass amounts of wisdom and it's energy to protect the Master Sword.

I don't think I ever could've imagined someone saying "a well-placed arrow could easily break the skin, piercing vital organs!" with such cheerful enthusiasm.

In Age of Calamity, during the Mipha quest, we can see the Zora soldiers using a technique where two soldiers block a strike with two spears and a third stabs another spear past the two spears guarding. It seems to be effective against monsters that use swords.

I saw some Yiga fighting Link one time, and they did something with terrifying implications; when Link had given one of them serious wounds, they were teleported back, presumably to a safe location where their wounds could be tended to. This means the Yiga would suffer almost no casualties compared to their enemies, something that would make them a force of terror during an all-out war. We're just lucky they're wasting their time trying to fight Link, who, from what I've seen, could probably take everyone else in Hyrule on his own.

It would really depend on just how advanced the Sheila tech is. If they can produce more guardians or at least re activate enough of them then the rest of the nations are toast.

I think Link alone almost guarantees a Hylian victory, so nerfing him may have been a good call. Tarrey Town, though, would be harder for the Zora to take than demonstrated here because the island is pretty elevated and the Zora would have to attack by land. I could see them maybe laying siege to Tarrey Town, but I think Tarrey Town could probably resist an attack pretty well, especially from the water-based Zora.

“The gerudo also have a cannon” Hylians: laughs in hundreds of canons

I feel like the yiga should have taken the win. They are shown to resist the temptation of bananas both in battle, and in dialogue bubbles when you pull one out in front of a disguised one. With this taken into account, the yiga should win. Also, master Kohga's zonai construct could have probably been included. Also, we never see an injured yiga die, they always teleport away to safety. This means they can tank the strongest of Link's attacks and survive, or at the very least a few bombs, as those don't even knock them out in 1 hit.

Hylians : “ we have this guy named link and he’s a tad overpowered .” Other nations : “yes he’s the hero but he can’t possibly kill an entire army right ?” link in the background building a precise replica of the us air forces

I think the Rito have it in the bag. In the video, most other armies played to their strengths, but the Rito barely took advantage of their mobility and air advantage, instead making the stupid decision to attack the largest force head on with their entire army. They could use guerrilla tactics and send small groups of Rito to do various things at the same time such as blowing up supplies with bomb arrows, stopping the larger Gerudo army from properly functioning. They can do the same to the weapons of the Sheikah/Hylian alliance which prevents them from really being able to fight back enemies in the air effectively - they can only use untrained archers except for Link and Zelda, who can't be everywhere at once. The Gorons have nothing to reach the Rito with, so they would eventually lose in a battle of attrition. The Zora's fare even worse, with shock arrows rained from above absolutely debilitating them in their most advantageous terrain. The Yiga probably stand the best chance if they could deceive the Rito and mess up chains of command, It really depends on how easily the Rito would be fooled and how good the Yiga are at pretending to be birds.

And then the Korok army appears from the Lost Woods. Tens of thousands, under the command of General Hestu, sweeping across the land and destroying the world of Men.

The korok forrest in the middle of the gerudo kingdom is quite comical

I think it's worth noting that (at least as far as I interpreted it), Mipha is still the only BotW-TotK era Zora we know of who could heal. We see Sidon, Yona, and her assistants purifying water of the sludge, but that's just water manipulation, a much more common Zora trait, and probably part of why Sidon's ability is using water as a barrier / projectile, rather than to heal. The way they help the Zora who are sick from sludge is essentially the same as Link throwing splash fruit, they're just washing the sludge out. All-in-all, the idea of a civil war is really interesting, because I think basically all of the races would be unbeatable in their own terrain, and none of them really have the numbers to do an all-out attack except maybe the Hylians, since all the other races would probably need to leave at least 1/3rd of their fighting-age members back to provide for families / children, if not more to defend them. This would especially effect the Gerudo, whose home would almost certainly be ransacked by the Yiga if they ever moved more than a few members of their forces away. The Gerudo might be able to win on the frontline with their full military prowess, but they'd come back to find that, despite "winning" the war, they were the only ones to have their home destroyed, since the Yiga are also likely the only faction that would go to the extent of killing those who can't fight back. Another thing worth noting is that while we do see some named Rito use a bow while flying, it's implied to be something very few Rito can do - part of why Revali was so legendary (and also probably part of why Tulin has some ego problems). I think the biggest way flight would help the Rito wouldn't be through archers but through bombers. They've already been exploring tons of nearby caves for food, so assuming they know what bomb flowers are, you'd probably see them flying bombing runs to create some really one-sided battles.
  • @Chowder_T
My money is on the Rito. Air superiority and a population of trained archers means they can always fight from a safe distance. Flight also means communication is faster, safer, and easier overall. And, living in the mountains means they have a good defensive stronghold. Their weakness might be in being able to secure supply lines. If they end up in a war of attrition, they might be forced to surrender.

I think given the underpowered Link and Zelda for this video, it was mostly accurate. I do think the Yiga, might have put up more of a fight, even in the Banana chaos, but otherwise. All made relative sense. Tho yeah with lore accurate Zelda and Link there would have been no contest. Fun video. Love to see more.
  • @Sin-Nombre04
Ganondorf: I didn't even needed to do anything, they killed eachother... now what do I do?
  • @BEAThatesyou
I don't know if they'd "win" a war, but the gorons are ten foot tall walking tanks. That built their own cannons that fire themselves. I don't think they'd ever start a war but I can see them easily ending one
  • @cubegaming21
Plot twist: the Koroks jump out of their many various hiding spots and stealthy assassinate everyone on the face of hyrule.
  • @yalkn2073
7:49 Hylians have 2 very major strength that cant be overlooked, they use armor and horses. Don't downplay the militia either, monster elimination squads are effective
  • Pfft...! Hahahah! Of course this is just a simulation. The Yiga would have decimated the Gerudo in no time! Plus, the genius of the Great Master Kohga would have made us victorious, as well, maybe they would have distracted us for just a minute but the Mighty Bananas would have made us stronger! Still, I have to give props to you for including me at 09:28
