Published 2022-02-26
We pushed this video to the front of the line because it was the most requested video in our remodel series. What video do you want to see next? Let us know!
Here's a summary of the process (with the products we used):

1) Sand everything. We recommend this sander: amzn.to/3HqLiKY with 100 grit sanding discs: amzn.to/3tfnTam

2) Wipe down every surface with water or TSP: amzn.to/3vizBUx

3) Mask. We recommend this masking machine: amzn.to/3K3iABV

4) Primer. We HIGHLY recommend this primer: www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/products/extre…
if you don't have access to this primer, this is the next best: amzn.to/3hm2ozf
We also recommend using an airless sprayer to apply the primer and paint. This one is highly recommended from Harbor Freight: www.harborfreight.com/handheld-hvlp-paint-stain-sp…
or try this one from Amazon: amzn.to/3hog2BQ

5) Caulk visible seams and gaps. We recommend the stretchiest paintable caulk available. It's this one: amzn.to/3BU6Yhw

6) Paint: We HIGHLY recommend this paint: www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/products/procl…

  • newly widowed, 1979, I bought a forty by 12 manufactured home on a tiny beach town lot. It had the usual dark inner walls etc. I went to the paint store, asked no questions, painted the walls, no prep, because I didn't know better. The paint looked great, for about an hour, then started bubblig and peeling. To make this a shorter story, I finally got some advice, and eventually got the walls looking like I wanted. But, oh my, the trauma. Now I am in the market for a rv to live in full time and know I will be painting, and your videos are super helpful. where were you in those early days. Probably in grade school, that was so long ago. Thanks so much for all your help!

Your home is absolutely gorgeous! I have worked with "professional" remodeling crews and do over "experts" who couldn't hold a candle to your extremely professional and classic do-over. BRAVO!
  • @Bess9779
This video had more great painting tips & information than any other video I've watched. The type of caulk & paint was so helpful to know. Thank you!
  • @jules3768
These tips and tricks are super helpful! Thank you! (and I’ve watched many 😆 also, by using a paint sprayer it probably ends up paying for itself by saving so much paint over using just a roller and brush - I always feel like 1/3 of the gallon ends up on me, the floor, the pan, the can, the dog, the high nap roller, etc. An edging tool for finishing touches once you’ve unmasked everything is super helpful too! 👍🏼

Great job kids. My 73 year old hubby & I will be using some of your tips
  • I've missed you guys sooo much !!!! Yay for this video !! I am in no way surprised how much effort you put into this, and how awesome it looks. So well done !!
  • @carlystewart9162
Super helpful insights on products and paints to use. Proper primer and a water-based latex paint to create longevity seem to be major keys along with all other prep work. Thanks!
  • @TheCubeBrothers
Fantastic video! Thank you for being so thorough with explaining what you did. I haven't seen anyone do as professional of a job as you did and it feels amazing to finally feel confident that I know what to do to finish my remodel at a high level.
  • Thank so much for this video and information. We started demo on a 2008 Camper, I was lost on how to achieve a long lasting paint job on the entire camper I am soooooo glad I found your videos. I now can proceed with more confidence.

You are an amazing inspiration, said it last time as well -- I absolutely love the work you did on your rig. (And the outtakes are great too!)
  • You guys did such an amazing job! Blessings to both of you 👏🏻
  • @skyangelthefan
Everyone needs an Uncle Sam! Great job and your motor home came out beautiful!
  • I just got around to watching this- really missed your RV videos. Excellent job explaining the how to’s and the why’s (not to mention I get to see you👏)
  • @AnnetteLG
I’ve missed you guys! I just finished painting our new house, well new to us, as it’s a remodel. We also used Sherwin-Williams. 😁😁🤗
  • Terrific advice! I'm a trucker nearing retirement. Just bought an older 23ft motorhome for my future retirement home and I'm gonna try to make it a comfy, attractive place to spend my "golden years" 😊. I'm already used to living small, lol. Thanks for the great info, it'll help this old gal have a place to be proud of!
