I wonder if is anything Kevin can't do ...??? The guy can beatbox while playing a cello!!! AND he sings too. I'm really fascinated

To this day I’m GRATEFUL that they gave Kirstin the lead of this song. The smartest choice ever, her voice sounds so innocent but also cuts through so perfectly, it hits you in the feels.

Kirstie's lower register kills me Every. Single. Time. Everything about this is flawless. Even six years later.

the way they all express themselves so differently while singing yet correspond so well with each other always amazes me. to me, for example, the situation that the song speaks of could be a love story where the relationship is threatened when one of the people is close to leaving the other person. Mitch's facial expressions make me think of the daze and confusion the person being left in the relationship would be feeling. Scott represents the hopelessness Kevin represents the stoic, brave face that one might try to put on to cover all of the pain Avi represents the anger and frustration and Kirstie, not only is she representing the pain felt, but also is placed in the center of the scene, making it appear as if she is the embodiment of all the other emotions and she's fighting with all of her feelings.

Kirstie's performance genuinely made me believe she was actually in a great sadness. The performance from everyone was very moving. It's one thing to sound good, but performing well takes it to a whole other level. After years of watching this video it still gives me goosebumps.

Shout out to Kevin keeping time on the beats, playing the cello and harmonizing perfectly... Such mastery!

Avi's "And I'm saying goodbye" .... goosebumps does not describe the chill that runs through my whole body. That man's voice is unrivaled. We miss you Avi!!!

Wait so Kevin can 1. Beat box 2. Play the... cello... 3. HE CAN SING?! This guy needs way more credit. He truly deserves the limelight in at least 3 songs.

I think of my son in a coma (at the time 28 yrs old) when I hear this song. I kept saying "say something" to show you are there. The doctors wanted to pull the plugs. I would not sign permission to do it. I was constantly at his side in ICU. After 3 months he said "Mom".

This is a perfect example of Pentatonix performing a song better than the original artists. Their version is heartbreakingly melancholy and yet there is a glimmer of hope in their voices.

The fact that Avi sang “You’re the one that I love, and I’m saying goodbye.” Brought me to tears. Please don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Matt, but I still miss Avi.

OK but is Kevin even human what kind of person can play the cello and beatbox like a boss at the same damn time and then sing like a fucking angel all while being so adorable like wtf

Such a huge sucker for cello. I didn't know that man could play the cello and do beatboxing like a master. My eyes watered.

They all look so hurt. Kristi looks so defeated. It's the last spark of hope dying. Hauntingly beautiful.

I know it doesn’t get quite the same amount of attention as some of their flashier videos (which are also fantastic…) but I’m convinced that this is one of, if not THE most incredible ensembles they’ve ever done. It’s absolute perfection. Plus, I really miss Avi… After seeing them all perform together for SO many years—it almost feels like one of their family members are missing. 🥺

"And I will swallow my pride. You're the one that I love, but I'm saying goodbye." There a is no other line in any song that has ever hit me like that. Everytime I hear it, my heart stops. So damn powerful.
