Update: May 2024 and it's working. Thank you for this easy and simple design.
  • Just made this, working like a champ. I tried a few other designs that failed until I found this one. Thanks!!

Very creative. The chicks have a larger hit box than the hens so they won't fall through the smaller checkerboard holes. When they become hens, the hit box is smaller so they will fall down through the holes.

The Hen's simply wont move over the checkered area, I built mine identical to the one in the video. After there's a certain amount of hens the top floor hens stops making eggs.

i love your vibes thanks for the design man its working great

ive wasted a lot of time checking one important stuff on this vid: how to exactly place the breeding chickens surroundings. If this would be an article, i'd use up to 5 minutes of my time. What a time to be alive.

I build this one but different location instead of inside my base , one problem : the place where the egg from the breeding pair drop , as i teleport around using portal , the chick hatch from these eggs have tendency of glitch through the floor and land on 45 degree roof thus sliding into the puffer fish , it is like 1 in 10 chicks .

I got one done successfully but I’m trying to do a second and the goddamn chickens won’t turn the right way and keep turning the wrong way when I pull them into place Update:my second chicken egg farm is complete with four chickens. SO EFFICIENT. I get 40 eggs every like 20 minutes or so if I afk nearby. The first one I built doesn’t work as well for some reason I constantly have to pick up and place the food back down. My other one I hear chicken calls constantly in the distance.

In your previous video you mentioned sticky bait is used to fish up pufferfish, correct? Where do we find pufferfish though?

as of June 2024 it works almost perfect with only one minor issue. Every now and then one chicken seems to get through the checkered area and goes all the way to the bottom. Not that it's any major problem and it's usually one per ten chicken or so. The rest stays up till maturing

I have rebuilt this twice exactly as is in video, both chickens are facing up but they will not eat. Seeds are placed between them on the gate above. Im not sure what is wrong. Another player on the server has built this as well and has no problems.
  • Can a second farm be built attached to this one (only for eggs) or will it mess up the chicken pathing?
  • The farm is kinda working thanks :) The only Issue I'm facing is that the chickens and hens are not walking over the chese like floor and therefor they only fall down when they get pushed, making it really slow. I've gone over the build now multiple times and can't find any differences... Do you have any tipps?
  • @auranoah9022
My hens don't slide into the breeding spots like yours does. They get stuck just above and I can't place the floor on top of them.
  • Hmm, I built this design yesterday to the tee, was working all as intended. But after a day IRL, I came back to it and my breeder hens aren’t eating the food, therefore no eggs to hatch. Anybody else have this problem? Or any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks!

for everyone having trouble with their chickens not wanting to turn upright, for me it was the roof o-corner 45 degree pieces that poke the chickens butt. as soon as i took those out, the chickens would turn upright, eat, and make eggs. i just put a 2 meter wall piece where they'd be originally, and move them on top of those.
  • @LillaMartin
Didnt know this still worked! Had a chick farm last i played but as i read this got patched :O I just used up 5k coins on chicks that walked into fire... forgot that suicidal thing they have... Gonna try this as fast i can get my hands on 2 chiks thanks!
  • @TrickyThe0ne
Made the farm and it has one issue im noticing the hens get stuck on the checkered floor and dont fall down at times. i see many other people talking about this as well, other than that it works great. especially if i go in manually and kill them when it fails
