In my humble opinion, weekend routines help set up our upcoming weekdays for success. By using the two precious off-days to be proactive & intentional with how we spend our time, just by spending a few minutes roughly planning for our weekends will do nothing but wonders for us. Here are 12 simple steps for how I have the most deeply productive and equally deeply restful weekend 😌

1 - Reframe what "productive" looks like 2 - Draft a detailed plan (loosely held) 3 - Whatever you gotta do, have fun with it 4 - Find pockets of stillness amidst "doing" 5 - Give yourself grace (re: loosely held) 6 - Accountabilty helps 7 - When you're out, be out 8 - When life happens, let it happen 9 - Pay attention to the (not so) subtle hints 10 - Pick up the towel 11 - Schedule time for empty spaces 12 - Sit down & plan for the week
  • "when you're working, work deeply; when you're sleeping, sleep deeply." such a great reminder to be present and 100% there. i've been feeling unmotivated and in a productivity rut, but this video has provided the guidance i've been needing. thank you so much, Rowena!

"Game plans are there to help us and serve us, not to make us feel guilty, less then or not enough." I felt that.

I do deep cleaning and run errands/be social on Saturday. My empty space is Sunday...I relax all day and that's it. I've learned to not be so strict with that schedule though.
  • @SarahNicholls
LOVED the message in this video. Getting guilt free rest is such a necessity to prevent burnout and feeling happy ❀️

I was thinking the past few weeks that I really should have a routine on the weekend as well, because I'd come into Monday exhausted from completely breaking my weekday routine and staying up late on my phone! This is a great topic Rowena!

I recently started watching your channel and i recently turned 24. I feel like I'm behind in life, no matter how much i achieve in life. It always seems so stressful. Watching you makes me feel like i have a sister/an adult to tell me things about how to do things in life. Thank you so much for making videos
  • @khalilahd.
Oh my goodness I love this idea! It’s so hard to balance productivity and self care and by the time you make the decision the weekend is over 😭. Thank you for this!
  • @AlyciaBoutte
Can we take a moment to appreciate the awesome jump transition to the couch?! 😁 Rowena, I really appreciate the authenticity in sharing some of the more challenging parts of your weekend when you didn't have to. I have the best weekends when I get my physical space together, do something social, meal prep, move my body, and reflect/ plan for the week ahead.
  • I’ve recently started being a baker at a Japanese bakery. It’s very tiring. I’m also trying to work out my ideal life outside of work. My dream life. While also dealing with family issues that are bringing me down. I’m often just so tired. And my weekends are either ALL work or ALL rest, and either way I end up so upset with myself. These last couple weeks I’ve been wanting to develop a balanced weekend routine and this could NOT have come at a better time. Thank you, Ro. πŸ™πŸΌ

My favorite lesson I gained throughout my life was reframing productivity. self care and rest is productive :)
  • @bluishblow
recently i watched a video about someone defending that the most important thing in life is to enjoy ourselves and it was a great point because we tend to get anxious and tired and worried about things that don't really matter and we lose ourselves in the process, so it's super important to take some moments to reflect and re-prioritize
  • this is officially my favorite of all your published videos. you introduced me to the concept of slowing down and resting in a productive manner, and giiiiiiirl life has never been the same. thank you so much Ro. I needed this :)
  • @Ssaidak
I never, never have thought in the word productivity in relation of a weekend. It's so depressing think in be productive in a weekend. It's time to relax and fun!
  • @EmandLloyd
As someone who is currently transitioning out of a season of my life in which I worked constantly and would feel guilty for resting (or feel like I needed to work extra hard to β€œearn” it), this was definitely what I needed to hear! Loved when you said β€œa weekend spent proactively being a potato is just as productive as a weekend spent working” - need to write that down and put it on my bathroom mirror :) - Em
