Ron Howard as Sherlock and Marion Crawford as Watson are fantastic

I told myself to have an open mind watching this show, as I think Basil Rathbone is the best Sherlock Holmes. However, I do like that Dr. Watson appears competent, and closer to the original Dr. Watson. I am enjoying the show and will watch all of the others. Thank you for posting.

The movies today can't hold a candle to the olden day movies. Enjoyment without excessive gore and sex!

Who could tell us that one day we'll be going back to watch black and white TV series!
-
great to watch on Christmas night when all the gifts are open and food is eaten up

A very good episode in this fine series from the early to mid 1950's. The plot, pacing, and acting were all of a high quality.

So incredibly well done, the way this episode is made. Not only the acting, but also the decors are fantastic..

I too am enjoying these episodes, as a cold winter closes in here in Australia. Thank you for uploading for all of us to enjoy. It makes the cool nights go much quicker, especially as there`s nothing much to watch on T.V.

A lovely and witty series that is a real gem!!! Thanks for posting

these are the best depictions of Holmes and Watson, more the kind of characters are in A C Doyle's stories, (a thousand times watched and I watch them again and again)

Another brilliant performance from Eugene Deckers. ๐ It is one of the few situations when re-using a character actor in a series to play various parts isnโt tiresome, but delightful. Some series re-used the same actor or actress almost as the โoh-please, here-we-go-again, donโt-they-have-anyone-else-available?/character of the weekโ, and often a most obvious, annoying, and grating one at that. Some were certainly used to the excessive point of the viewers questioning the true reasons for their seemingly guaranteed re-appearances. Long-term contracts in a series are, or ought to be, for long-term characters. But that was never the case with Eugene. He was a wonderful addition to any episode, and wherever he graced the screen...

Simply wonderful, thanks. I never get tired of watching them and I enjoy the more pugilistic Dr Watson.

Sir Arthur. What have you wrought! From a school library's "The Complete Sherlock Holmes" when I was 9, "A Study In Scarlett" to acquaint me, I daresay your Watson and Sherlock have become molded into my very soul.

This is the first time in this series where I've seen Holmes on edge. In the other episodes, he was always calm and unfazed, but in this one, he was clearly rattled, and uneasy, although I can't say that I blame him.
-
I have watched every actor that has played Holmes and Watson and feel every one of them bought something different to the role. All have been excellent.

very good episode, thanks for the upload

love sherlock. love Christmas. love pudding. taking our minds off lockdown. thank you!

I feel like Holmes is a young child and Watson his worried grandfather....their like heart brothers, good friends, kindred spirits, trusted acquaintance, but they've got got that sort of a camaradie. Real friendship is very rare, selfless and natural...it's a treasure in this dark age, where ego and selfishness is at its peak.

Iโve seen many of these episodes, also produced by Mr. Reynolds, when there were two different actors in the roles. They were more than likely filmed in Poland, as all of the credits for camerawork, etc. all were given with Polish surnames. Either way, these are great, I am addicted. And TYSM! God bless you always. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐โ๏ธโก๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
