Amedeo Modigliani, an Artistic Journey | Documentary

Published 2023-06-13
Amedeo Modigliani initially achieved acclaim as a representational artist, finding inspiration in the artistic styles of Toulouse-Lautrec, Paul Cézanne, cubism, and Picasso's blue period. During the years of 1916 and 1917, Modigliani produced a renowned collection of 30 paintings, known as his iconic series of nudes. These captivating artworks portray the models in diverse positions, whether seated, standing, or reclining, while presenting an idealized depiction of the human figure in its bare form.

Wow and as if his "companion" kills herself when he dies, while 9 months pregnant and leaving behind their little girl. That is so sad that poor girl
  • Jean suicide killing her unborn child in the process because her father wouldn’t love them was the most tragic affair I had ever known.

“Seeking favourable conditions for their art” .. Paris
  • @cultofape
Whenever I see "art" like this, I´m always reminded of "the Emperor´s new clothes"..
  • So sad to see how brilliant he was in his early years to degenerate into copying his contemporaries- his drug and alcohol abuse so obvious in his loss of care and skill
  • The guide speaking in French in the background is very distracting and unnecessary. It was hard to hear the person narrating and I had to stop watching this video.
  • MODIGLIINI??? does he not deserve to be pronounced correctly?
