  • Playing the game blind I did not expect this plot twist it caught me off guard.

Master of Fame is the best of all the 3 choices. You meet two characters who have a conflict through the story, lots of unexpected tragedies, all leading up to the reveal of Auguste being Schwartz and that he had it all plans out from the beginning, ending with him getting what he wanted - to be stopped. And the cherry on top it being he used to be Schwartz till the incident with his wife, leading him to change his name and make plays, not caring for fame at all till he obtained the ring. The Master of Fame is an incredible tragedy with incredible characters, surprises, dread, and a story and boss that brings the whole house down Simply… Marvelous

This entire production was simeons idea: he needed inspiration so he gave scwartz the ring. He knew its power would lead the playwright to new depths, once witnessing this play Simeon followed the same path by fixating on ruining the innocence of a child (parallel mikhail and primrose) and going out by being pierced down on stage. August was a puppet for inspiration for Simeon, as Simeon makes his speech at the end I realized we were just actors in his play
  • out of the three master, Auguste is the one I symphatize the most. I would've weep at his funeral.
  • Okay I chose this story first.. I finished master of Fame after master of power, and I felt empty afterwards... Master of Fame storyline is simply maaaarvelous
  • my biggest mistake playing this game was choosing to do the master of fame boss fight before the other masters. I won but barely and after doing the others i realized this was meant to be done last

in the pursuit of catharsis all is expendable, even yourself. 🙂
  • the true form of Auguste remind me of how the Draugr Thorin: (Draugr, Wikipedia) "...Þráinn (Thrain) the berserker of Valland "turned himself into a troll" in Hrómundar saga Gripssonar was a fiend (dólgr) which was "black and huge.. roaring loudly and blowing fire", and moreover, possessed long scratching claws..."

I must have been really lucky with my pulls or something (or was smart enough to have all 8 classes at once with good weapons and armor) because I may have struggled, but I did manage the beat him on my first try with level 21-22

This story is better than Octopath 1 in its entirety
  • @szinyk
does anyone know the name of the music track at the very end?

What level were all of your units during this fight? My party ranged from Lv 20-23, but I didn’t realize there was a second phase and got completely trounced because I’d already used up most of my SP.
  • I had mine all level 34 and couldn't win it. They purposely recommend only level 21 for the stage so you will get frustrated and spend money. Not me, I'll delete this first. I must say I'm shocked how pay to win this game is. I should probably just do daily caits and come back once I hit 60 or so, I'm not spending on a game with graphics this bad no matter how much I love the story.
