Her lower register (deep singing voice) is stunningly beautiful.

The vibe in this album is really giving me comfort in solitude. Like I can just float..

unpopular opinion: THIS IS THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM

This is hands down one of her most uniquely written songs ever. The subject, the structure and tbe melody of this song is just so different from anything SHE'S ever done. Love to see het growth as an artist.

Does anyone else realize the intro is country whilst the outro is synth-pop which is symbolic of Taylor’s career trajectory thus far? This song is utterly brilliantly written, produced, and sang. This is Top Tier Music.

My interpretation of this: Taylor was trapped in a relationship where she put in the effort and the emotional labour while he was trapped in his depression and caged off emotions. She did her time, did everything she could, and is now free to be herself, effectively releasing herself from the obligation to help someone who doesn't want to be helped. Her friends watched her shrink and disappear into herself just to be with him. The line "running back home to you" I could see as being about a new relationship (like Travis) but also she's running back to herself, to learn to love herself again. I see this as a song of self-love.

When it was like 33 seconds into the song it just sounded so majestic and on beat, this needs a music video!
  • @zacuzzi
She went from "I like shining things but i'd marry you with paper rings" to "At the park where we used to sit on children's swings wearing imaginary rings"
  • I love how the music tempo changes at the beginning and then it changes again almost at the end of the song, and each tempo is completely different to the one preceding it. It's like the song changes over its course. It's like she's moving on.
  • Fresh Out the Slammer, like many of the TTPD songs, have this shimmery shoegaze production that just evokes this euphoric feeling when listening to them. Guilty As Sin has it but also a slight "country" feel to it. Sonically this album is so different than all of her previous albums. Taylor just keeps evolving as an artist and keeps getting better.
  • I'm convinced that TTPD is like Folklore and Reputation's child CHANGE MY MIND
  • While we were busy watching the Fortnight MV she released the lyrics version 😭😭 I AM DYING! I LOVE YOU SO SO MUCH TAYLOR ❤️

Taylor’s vocal range really grew throughout the years. Every words in her lyrics now has a color, emotion, and character into it.
