Homeless girl in Auckland New Zealand

Published 2016-04-19
This video was a school assignment. The 13 year old girl was an actor hired for the project and did such an incredible job. I am looking forward to working with her again. She was amazing.

I've been to Auckland and NZ and I doubt very much anyone there would be homeless unless they really wanted to be. This girl would be given access to resources immediately. It's a caring place

i would help her I would give her food give her cloths I would give her things like she's my own child
  • I can't explain how pain I was feeling when i see her on the street searching food on dustbin... Let the people helps her.....God bless her...this happen when people are highly educated and too rich they have no heart to other who needs help....
  • I have been in touch with auckland mission and winz offering shelter to a homeless person. In a nutshell, both organisations told me to go and find my own AS THEY DO NO OFFER THAT KIND OF SERVICE TO THE HOMELESS!! Yes, they will give them food and money, but it seems no government agency exists that can direct them to genuine people like me who want to help. What a wonderful system!

For some reason, I didn't imagine NZ had homeless children, other than runaways, maybe, and I can't imagine even runaways would not be assisted quickly by people when they're seen out on the streets. It seems so safe and clean there.
  • For the love of Christ, please tell me she's only an actress and not genuinely homeless.
  • don't make Nz looks like INDONESIA streets ! that's so fucking horrible ! our own people ! need help ! but our Government only care with their self ! disappointing ! i'm AFRAID criminality will mpre getting higher in NZ !

Umm NZ/Auckland doesn't look like that and we don't have any homeless kids on the street. If we did they would of been already token care of.

People stop some of you commenting that you would help her probably would over see her and do nothing but i apologize if you would help her .
  • Ive always wanted to.go to new zealand and live there. But i hate doing things alone.
  • Ok, so this was staged to highlight the issue. What's important is that there really are kids like this in every country in the world. Sadly, somebody has failed as a parent as it's their responsibility to care for a child till the age of eighteen. If you ever see a child in this position go out of your way to help them, I don't mean spend 30 seconds giving them money, but really help them, they need guidance, a mentor an adult to demonstrate the way not to exploit them. Please please help them. Team up with me to help them.
  • I can't believe this when New Zealand is a rich country. How is that possible a little beautiful girl have less future.

I WOULD APPROACH, HER IN A KID WAY, ASK HER WHERE HER FAMILY WAS, IF NONE BUY HER A WARM MEAL, AND CALL THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES , UPON PLACING HER IN GOOD HAND, GETTING HER OFF THE STREETS,FINDING A FUTURE FOR HER
