I always watch Jen's cleaning videos to gaslight myself into thinking cleaning my room is aesthetic!
  • @emajohnes372
Jenny i think youre going to do aloooot of those videos i am not complaining at all it is fun to watch the transition from dirty and messy to fabulously clean and organized ❤but if you really want to have a cleaning habbit and keep ur house always clean start small first instead of throwing your cloth on couch and bed start throwing them in the closet and in the drawer always make your bed before get out of ur room it is hard in the beginning but in no time you well find your sef doing it automatically just do it one by one ,love you ❤❤❤

For me, the BEST organizing hack: minimizing the amount of things I have. Getting rid of doubles, unnecessary and clutter-making things. By that, you reduce the chance of clutter being bulit up :)

as someone who struggles putting their clean clothes away, getting a second laundry basket MAJORLY helped. i think i put them away even quicker now because everything is organized and it’s not stressful to look at.
  • I think you'll love the book How To Keep House While Drowning by K. C. Davis, it's full of advice on how to make your space more functional while working with your brain instead of against it, plus it's great because it's so understanding of our struggles. One of the key things it keeps repeating is that mess is not a moral failing, and so you don't need to judge yourself for it. Helped me a lot

omg the cockroach pov is actually genius!!!

Something I've noticed is I feel a lot less stressed and more organized when my space is clean and organized. There is definitely some truth to the saying that our physical space affects our mental state. Historically I have been a lot like you with leaving stuff everywhere but since the start of the year I've been trying to pick up things every few days and put stuff where it goes or find it a home. I feel so much better and feel like I have more energy to be productive, and the good feelings have been helping me keep it going. I have ADHD (official diagnosis) and have struggled with being messy my whole life so I'm low-key pretty impressed with myself and it feels so good haha, so crazy

For me, it’s coming from a naturally messy household. We would only clean every other fortnight lmao. I also have no friends so it’s really hard for me to get out of my hermit mode. But, I’m trying to get better for when I do eventually move out my house won’t be as bad as my parents. These videos are relatable and inspiring so thank you!!!!
  • @jamila0019
Sometimes when i go into hermit crab mode and I don't clean for like days to weeks, I try and video call a friend of mine to hold me accountable while I clean so I don't get lazy in the middle of the cleaning mode. I think you vlogging the entire time helps as well hahahaha!
  • @01ax
Your videos always makes me clean my room
  • @genellwhite497
you can try setting a timer for 15 min 3 nights a week and clean as much as you can
  • @kathieb2354
I really felt what you said around 5:00 about being a naturally messy person. I have diagnosed ADHD (not saying that you do!!!) and I am very much not a naturally organized person. I used to feel very guilty about that but luckily I got to learn that it doesn’t make me a bad person, I just need to rely on very SIMPLE systems to keep myself together. What really helps me is Minimalism! With less stuff I can keep a better overview, I don’t lose things as much and cleaning is wayyy faster and easier. It’s ok to be overwhelmed by mess but you can adapt literally anything to make it easier on you. Sending lots of love!! ❤

I'm gonna say what I'm gonna say and I hope this reach her so maybe it could help her. In the creative industry most of us people are neurodivergent and this difficult about keeping up with cleaning and self hygiene has a lot to do with neurodivergent symptoms so it's not about you simply being messy and you should not be ashamed of it. Learning about it can make you manage it better. Love your content btw 🖤
  • @rimasilver2765
The easiest way to keep your home clean and organized is when ever you used something turn it back to his place to stop the mess.

  • Girl you dont have to justify your living situation/mess. Your beautiful space is yours to LIVE in it. That's just part of the human condition. Thanks for sharing this vulnerable and relateable experience with us. Also, the bangs are banging and I love the hair color!❤
  • @IreneIsaac
This is EXACTLY wat i needed omg perfect timing thank u 💕
  • OK, TIP!! For all the crap that doesn't have a designated place to go to (or even a designated room) so every time you clean you're stuck with the same stuff in the same spot and it's horrible cause it's still messy and doesn't look clean so you feel like you haven't done anything: I feel you! what I do is whenever I wanna clean, I keep an empty basket by my side so that whenever I come across something that I don't know where to put and if I think about it too much its gonna take up all my motivation, I just throw it in there. There are few perks with that: First, when you're done cleaning you can come bak to the basket and organize all the crap, second, sometimes when looking at the basket you realize that all the stuff is basicly the same thing so you can then find a way to organize it how you want, and third, if you never feel strong or motivated enough to organize the basket it doesn't matter because now all the crap has a designated place and you can always find it there!

I am just a messy person, when i do stuff i focus only on that, but! i love cleaning aswell so it works out i guess. So if im repotting plants a whole day, i get to do some fun cleaning the day after :)
