I'll throw in that I'm in full support of seeing you take this car to 100,000 miles. Let's do this James!
  • @robovac3557
Oh, the LC. My dream car. Luckily I dream quite often so kinda feel I do own one. And it's been magnificent.
  • @sven1925
Jay, I don't follow your channel religiously but I enjoy it every time I watch. Thank you. I said it before and I'll say it again: Don't ever apologise for doing what you like. You create something that people want and you should be proud to be rewarded for it. Your Ferrari, your dream, is earned by you. F.... the haters.
  • @Cheifo22
To buck the status quo, I'm British and would like to wish you every success. You've worked hard.. Now play hard. Enjoy your content and always look forward to your vids👍

I actually placed an order for an orange LC 500 after seeing your review for it and absolutely loving the colour! Unfortunately, they cancelled the 2023 MY, and orange was no longer an option. However, I'm happy with the 360 camera as a consolation on a red model. After travelling almost 10k miles in the last 8 months with lots of continental Europe driving, I can't imagine a better car for my needs. I want to get an F12 or an 812 eventually, but the only value add they have over LC is the 12 cylinder music and the Ferrari experience (which will be worth it, eventually). Otherwise, having sat in an 812 and a GTC4Lusso at the dealers, I left much more satisfied with the LC's interior. I remember the dealer telling me excitedly about the alcantara seats, and I said, "Oh nice! Just like my LC." I'm sure the owner's spec is partly to blame, but the interior was slightly below what I feel the LC gives. Another factor that makes the LC more reasonable for me is that one of the joys of these GTs is going on continental road trips, and with Lexus' engine tech, atkinson/otto cycle switching and cylinder deactivations, I can average 8.4l/100km over a 4000km trip (about 1600 of which is off-motorway). I get to rip through mountain roads and make some noise in town at 20l/100km when I want, but also go on long trips without feeling like I'm burning money (including worrying about depreciation). I remember an interview with whatever director was responsible for the LC and he talked about how it wasn't made with a spec sheet in mind, all the design choices Lexus made were considering overall ownership experience, both performance/sound/fun and reliability and daily-ability. I feel like all the choices they made match the things I value from my car. Edit to add: my profile photo is of my LC at the foot of Sustenpass, CH.

Jay, the F12 is to impress others, the LC500 is to impress yourself. So I understand if you think you won't get as many views with the LC500, but it is a proper special car that deserves owning at least once. Trust me on this. Thanks again.
  • LC500 is the dream...the idea of a Japanese V8 just tickles the balls.

I don't care what you own, what's great about this channel is your attitude to cars, and car ownership in general. I love how you'll have a video on the costs associated with a Ferrari vs the joy of owning it, and the next video could be on a Dacia, and you still find joy in the driving. You're are a true enthusiast, and that's what keeps me watching. It's good to see you realise some of your dreams, and share them in an entertaining fashion. 👏
  • I personally love the content and your honest portrayal of Ferrari ownership. I also like the fact you address the negative comments fairly. Keep up the great contact. I watch every video
  • Hiya James. John from London here. I'm an avid petrolhead like you. Anyway, you do what you do, as you love driving and giving us the joy of driving when you publish these videos. A car, whether it's a Ferrari,a BMW or what have you, is always bound to have issues. At the moment, you are in the right time in your life as you can look out for them and fix them. The naysayers can all go and do one. Keep on with what you can, because we're only here on this Earth for a short amount of time, so take it as it comes. Personally I think the Lexus is a stunning car. But your F12, is beautiful! Oh, and go 100,000 miles in the F12. We'll all love it!
  • @CraigMcB68
Keep the F12, do the 100k miles. I'm sure if you sold it, you'd miss it way more than the 550 or 430 Scud. It's a very special (V12) Ferrari. Talking to a car dealer friend last week - As prices continue to tumble, I look at the likes of the Portafinos and even Romas hitting the £130k - £140k and start to get tempted. I said to my dealer friend its a real shame that good F12s are still £150k plus. He remarked.... the fact that F12 prices are holding when others are not is the very reason to buy an F12 and not the others. Keep the F12 it will always be a sort after car worth good money. Enjoy it.
  • Exactly, owning a Ferrari means you are primarily into BDSM and the dealership is the dominatrix. Owning a Lexus means you are primarily into cars and the dealership is a service facility. 👍
  • @larryjimbob
If I had the funds, and could locate one for sale (unlikely), I'd personally have a Lexus LFA 😍
  • @RideTheTrack
Hey Jay, LC500 owner here. Can I just say I love ferraris too and would love to own a V12 versioned one (or perhaps a pista/speciale) someday. I can understand why someone might ask you to substitute one for another, but it would take an owner to understand they're not quite sitting in the same category. But having said that, would love to see you own an LC500 one day too, seeing as you do love it so much. Cheers
  • I'm so pleased I found you on YouTube - someone that speaks my language when it comes to having, experiencing, enjoying and most of all doing the right thing for the car no matter what it takes. You're a joy to watch and listen too. 🇬🇧👍
  • Never complain, never explain. I would never apologize for owning a Ferrari.
  • @Punisher9419
When they come down in price I wanna get an LC500. £500 for a wheel speed sensor is a rip off though, it's a £20 part and takes about 10 minutes to replace on most cars. I took them out and cleaned them on my XKR and that took about 10 minutes each and they where rusted in-place. I would love to see a 100k mile Ferrari though.
  • You’ve been successful because you are good at your job. Great content and honest views. Jealousy is a nasty thing but all too common. My Vantage is now on 120k miles and no issues since I bought it - tyres and brakes only. Go for the 100k !
  • @barrydraper
After hearing your Ferrari ownership experience, that LC500 isn't sounding too bad afterall. LOL. Seriously though, I really do like the LC500. Lexus doesn't make many of them either.
