The lower levels of Coruscant are also unknown regions

This definitely makes a case for revisiting old topics. There's so much ever changing canon. I'm an old school fan and barely knew any of this.

My head canon has always maintained that this part of the Star Wars galaxy is actually an ongoing collision with another smaller galaxy. The Star Wars galaxy is mostly populated with bipedal, intelligent beings. Most intelligent life seems to have a common design. This second galaxy that is colliding with the Star Wars galaxy is full of very different forms of intelligent life, which follow their own set of unique designs.

Finally, somebody talks about my boys the Ssi-Ruuk! One of the blunders with making the EU non-canon was missing out on the chance to have invading space dinosaurs as a galactic threat. And even apart from that, there's no love for Ssi-Ruuk in the fandom whatsoever, so thanks for acknowledging their existence at the very least. I'd like it if you made them a topic of a video, but I'm pretty sure I'd be the only one to watch it :P

The concept of Rakatan Holdouts, splinters of the Infinite Empire, surviving and turning into a greater threat down the line is a nice thing to touch on… but sadly lack of information on them is a problem.

Everybody gangsta till the Blackwing Virus Star Destroyer casually docks on a planet

THE OUTBOUND FLIGHT. God, thank you. My dad got me that as a gift years ago, and I could never remember the title after I lost it. The one where the jedi use the mind meld or whatever and they're trying to explore unknown regions! God I loved reading that so much, definitely gonna give it another read now

What I find most terrifying about the Unknown Regions is the fate of the Temple of Korman Lao--a planet-sized temple that was destroyed. Its destruction implies the existence of a superweapon or a fleet of incredible firepower.

I think the "Unknown" is inherently interesting from a storytelling perspective as well as just just the sence of adventure from seeing a map with a spot that says "here there be monsters". For the narrative opportunity it presents the option for a more "Star-Trek" like experience. Most of the Star Wars systems operate with a similar super culture and the Unknown Regions helps introduce novel elements at will of the writer. It's possible for individual systems to be located among the rest of the Republic just in "unconnected" systems but honestly humans have difficulty understanding the fantastic distance between systems. The most interested element is a discussion if there are inherent difficult in hyperspace in the region or just lack of interest in exploration. Also explain why Luke has a grappling hook in episode 4, and why the audience just accepts it. Is there a grappling hook store somewhere that the Republic and Empirial armories mass ordered from? Like I do t think I've ever seen a grappling hook in person.

Y'know, theory crafting video idea: Gravity screws with hyperspace travel, hence the Empire creating the Interdictor class, which can make artificial gravity wells. So, could the same principle be applied but in reverse? In essence weakening or lowering gravitational fields in front of ships to improve hyperspace travel? And could it be a way to better traverse the Unknown Regions? Maybe even the Deep Core too considering the much denser gravity of the region?

why would I want to miss your "Ecksplanation" on the Mngaal-Mngall your one of the only ones who talk about them, thanks you for being the best starwars lore youtuber in my opinion (not trashing the others)

So interested in "beyond" type stuff like this in the Star Wars universe. Keep up the awesome work!!!😁😁😁
  • @6thsavage
Yet there’s nothing as terrifying as the Special Edition scene of the Max Rebo Band.
  • @Mikethehamham
A dedicated video to lesser known factions/ power blocs outside of the dominant ones like the NR/GA/empire would be awesome
  • @jedinathan
You forget to mention the Star Weird that can are a major hyperspace hazard in the area there is also that dark side cult devoted to chaos with a desire to export it to the galaxy. Also there is the Kiliks and the potential remnants of say the Rakatan Infinite Empire and hell I wouldn't be surprised if some remnant of the Pius Dea fleet that was launched randomly into hyperspace at the end of the Seventh Alsakan Conflict managed to colonize some worlds and form a new Pius Dea Imperium in the Unknown regions which hey if that isn't a good idea for a Star Wars story set in either timeline I don't know what would be.
  • @ConyaBalls2004
Id love to see a video about these supposed ghost ships in the unknown regions
  • Have you ever noticed that the Vong is kinda like the mandalorians? They both have a warrior culture that values honor, they are both almost unstoppable forces, and they both have hatred towards Jedi. I’d like to see a fight between the mandalorians at their peak vs the vong at their peak
