Millersylvania is the only state park with a beer garden. It's a little cabin in the woods open Memorial day-Labor Day.
  • @marcuslane3
I was a kid when I use to go there loved riding bikes thru trails all day ..
  • The yellow flowers you were seeing are Skunk Cabbage. They have a slight skunk smell. Parts of the plant are edible.

We're van campers south of Seattle, too, and love finding your channel today. We'll be watching more!

I’m gonna be honest with you! When your Winnie conked out, I lost interest in your channel, bec I’m an RV enthusiast! There was a chunk of your car camping life that I missed out on completely b (but never once did I unsubscribe from you)! It was such a big delight watching you make that tomato soup & grilled cheese sando…and then that very nice looking breakfast the next morning! It made me realize the four major boxes your channel checked for me, that I missed so much : RV life enthusiast, great chef, Sci Fi fan, and awesome personality! Welcome back buddy…can’t wait for the more intense cooking you’ll be doing this coming Spring/Summer 🖖🏼
  • I highly recommend another state park in southwest Washington. Seaquest State Park. If you haven’t been there, it has some great hiking trails through some tremendously impressive old growth forest, plus it’s adjacent to one of the Mt St Helen’s visitor centers and a wetlands walking trail. You won’t regret it.

Best spot in the forested area is spot 131. There’s no power to it, but I don’t mind that it’s a corner spot and it just tends to be a little more private than the others. Also, one spot on one side is or seems to be permanentlyleft out of commission so you only have somebody on the other side of you and with it being on a corner fairly private. Right across from that is the bathroom.

Millersylvania State Park brings back memories. I lived in Centralia in the 60s, which is about 15 miles south of there. In junior high I spent a fair amount of time at Millersylvania during the summer. I never spent the night there, but groups of kids would talk somebody's parent into driving us out there in the late morning and we would spend the day walking the trails and swimming in Deep Lake. Then another parent would pick up up in the late afternoon. The park was really busy on warm summer days even back then. You mentioned Rainbow Falls State Park, which is on Route 6 between Chehalis and Raymond. I also used to go there every year for a big family reunion of my mom's fathers side of the family. That typically drew 80-100 people (mom's dad was one of 13 kids). Those flowers are Western Skunk Cabbage. Wow, getting out of Seattle looks like it is crazy now. I have driven from Seattle down past Millersylvania many, many times and it never took more than about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the Maytown exit from Seattle in those days. In the 70s I used to stay on surface streets to the east of I5 at least onto Beacon Hill or down the rinier valley. That was 40+ years ago, but even then I5 traffic often moved slower than surface street traffic. From Queen Anne I would have jumped on Denny and gone up to Broadway, then Broadway south to Boren, Boren past where it changes to Rainier, then onto MLK Ave S until the south end of Boeing Field where I jumped on I5. When I was last in the Pacific Northwest I completely avoided driving in I5 because of the traffic. Old highway 99 is quite a scenic drive once you get south of Tacoma. I remember it from the 50s (before I5).

As a kid I grew up going to that park I lived just down near the park in mossyrock, I remember having an Easter event as a kid, that Bridge is Amazing thoe.
  • @wildwally9
This is the video I've been waiting for! It's so good to see you out in your new RV enjoying yourself. Best wishes for many adventures in the future, and thanks for taking us along.
  • @srperk6163
I’m looking forward to the RV Jedeye guide to camping cooking.
  • David, I never knew black enrollees worked for the CCC. I always heard about the CCC, and it's role with early construction of parks around the nation. However, I never have heard anything about the black enrollees. That was very interesting, and I'm glad you shared that fact with us on your video. Awesome video!👍👍👍 Take care brother!
  • @imagingconcepts
Very nice rig! That Seattle traffic is something else, I don't miss that at all. Have you spent any time on the Olympic Peninsula?
  • @Mmwindc
Skunk Cabbage! Enjoyed the video. You are a natural! Enjoy
  • @susang994
You have, and I mean this positively, the sweetest demeanor, kind of a nice break from the “bros””dudes” and “dawgs” I usually watch. Stayed at Millersylvania this winter and woke up to a surprise 4 inches of snow. 😳. Fortunately it slushed up quickly because we were leaving that day and they decided to close the park. But it’s definitely a very nice park.
  • @stevemcbride2685
Only two pieces of bacon? Come on brother you’re making me look bad. I eat two pieces of bacon while the other bacon is cooking.
  • Looks like a beautiful park. Great hike. The rig really suits you. Nice to see you out and about again. Stay safe. 🌸🌷🌼🌺🌹💐
  • Your flower is Skunk Cabbage, grows in swampy areas, near creeks and such.
  • @staroceans8677
You're a joy and I just discovered you, and I subscribed. Looks fun and congratulations on your new Rig.
  • @bethdixon501
Tomato soup looks super yummy 😋 thanks for sharing your meal & this is my first video of yours 😎🥳🙌🏻
