Mountain bikers bump into King Charles in an unbelievable encounter on Balmoral estate

King Charles stopped and chatted to a group of cyclists who were going for a ride on the Balmoral estate this summer, with the mountain bikers branding the royal 'a very nice man'. The monarch, 74, was hiking alone on his Scottish estate when he passed a group of mountain bikers who were filming their trip for a YouTube video. Wearing a jacket, flat cap and carrying a walking stick, he stopped and chatted to the group before they told him they were staying on the estate.

    This reminds me of the time the Queen was out walking with only her Royal Protection Officer close by, when a couple of American tourists stopped and had a chat. They hadn't realised who she was, but assuming she was a 'local' asked her if she'd 'ever met the Queen?' She replied 'No I haven't - but he has'. They were quite impressed, and I have a vague feeling they asked the Queen if she would take a picture of them - with the RPO.

    I have met HRH King Charles on a couple of occasions whilst in the Army & have found him to be one of the easiest people to chat to. If I could have met one person in my lifetime the Queen was the very top of the list. 🙂

    American and I love King Charles lll, that must have been an amazing encounter for the bikers! I'm sure not many people can say, "I was mountain biking and ran into the King"!! I thank them for sharing this wonderful video with the rest of us!
