Bro, this is a 1000 times better than most tuts on youtube. I really wanted to give up but this gave me hope man. Thanks!
-
I learned a lot, in two hours I went from "I don't know blender" to "I can make mario's head" das pretty good.
-
This tutorial is a GODSEND. I was looking into stylized low-poly for months now, and the best I could find was "PS1 style", which is totally not my jam! But this, this is literally donut of character creation, this is GOAT of tutorials
-
As an experienced 3D artist who watches tutorials for fun, Id say this is most definitely a tutorial Id look for as a beginner. I love how youre not spoonfeeding every bit of information to the viewer Direct, easy to understand, good quality product.
-
As a solo game dev myself who SUCKS at 3d modelling, this video is a ray of hope and I am so thankful to You my friend. ❤
-
UV unwrapping and specifically textute painting was always such a headache for whenever I'd attempt to make a low poly character. You are a saint for this tutorial 🙏🙏🙏
-
Unironically one of the best tutorials for 3d modeling / UV unwrapping and Texture painting all in one.
-
Low Poly style is really good because it's a lot like making a chibi. You have design what's the essentials of the character and doesn't allow you to get lost in the details.
-
this is a better guide to modeling than the class I took in college on the subject. You sir are a hero
-
if you make creating lowpoly this clean and easy can we see how you rig and animate like in the intro they look cool
-
absolutely incredible tutorial, i'm a college student studying game design and was literally just ranting to my friend about how horrible character modelling is, so having this tutorial be understandable and teach exactly what i needed to know is like a miracle really! thanks man, great stuff
-
OMG! Thank you so much for the detailed tutorial (especially for showing the keyboard shortcuts used during the creation process in the video). It's really great material.
-
This entire video has been immensely helpful. Detailed while keeping a good pace. Not glancing over modeling methods, plus the shortcut visualizer helps a ton
-
This was a great video and I like how you take your time to show your process and explain it. Also, your art looks really nice. I hope to see more of your work.
-
every other character creation tutorial did my head in, but this one just makes sense. incredible video

Haven’t touched 3D modeling in a while, but this definitely has inspired me to get back into it with some character modeling (after I study for and do my AP exams). Might comment with some questions if I remember to. Thanks for the great video!

It took roughly 7 hours as a beginner to make this while following along. I was initially thrilled because your approach resonated with my goals for character design. However, it's crucial to clarify that the video isn't precisely a tutorial. My primary aim in watching was to grasp texture painting and UV mapping, so it was disheartening when, after finally completing the model, the video suddenly sped up, leaving me feeling left behind. This feedback is simply meant to be constructive; since there's no mention in the video that it's a tutorial, it's not your fault. However, the initial portion does give the impression that new users can easily follow along, which only adds to the frustration after investing hours. Despite these challenges, I managed to keep up fairly well, even resorting to slowing down the video to 0.25x speed during the UV mapping segment (such difficulties added significant time to completing the piece). I was really hoping for a demonstration of how to pose the model as well. Anyway, great art and thank you for posting the video!

Simple and super effective. Great work!
-
Thanks for the tutorial, well-constructed and no-nonsense video.

One of the best and easily digestible tutorials I've come across on this topic. Tysm :D
