No. 3 seed Syracuse routed No.1 seed Oklahoma 63-47 in a game that was expected to be much closer. Instead, Syracuse played tight zone defense the entire game and never let the Sooners get into the game. Future NBA star Carmelo Anthony led the night with 20 points and 10 boards. The Orangemen later took out Texas and Kansas in later rounds to become the 2003 National Champion.

Syracuse was a one-team wrecking crew against the Big-12 that year

Cuse really was the best team in the NCAA that year.

So good, and listening to Len Bias cry about Syracuse winning for 40 minutes was icing on the cake!
  • I was 3 that year and went to every game...glad I wasn’t old enough to remember it

Crazy how 18 years later Boeheim and Sampson met up again in the NCAA tournament and Sampson's Houston team evened the ledger with Cuse by almost the exact same score as this one (62-46 vs. 63-47).

The Pepsi Arena, the Carrier Dome East, lol
  • Melo really hated when the announcers kept saying he was from Bmore

It's funny, I remember people saying that Cuse had too much of an advantage playing in Albany and Oklahoma got jobbed. They could have played that game in a neutral site, Norman Oklahoma, or on the damn moon, OU never was going to beat Syracuse.
  • Why were the announcers telling all these players horrible life stories lol? “His family escaped with they’re lives, “He born in rough neighborhood with him and his single mother, “He only had 2 outfits.
  • @scoonman
8:56 gonna go out on a limb and say Boeheim was a little perturbed 😂
  • Doesnt look good for the Sooners....my favorite color commentary of all time
  • Seems. This video is so nice wound position What's your opinion about it, guys
