Merlina is such an underrated villain in the Sonic Franchise.

The original With Me is definitely an underrated and underappreciated song, and this cover 100% does it justice. I appreciate it mostly for two things: 1. One of the few themes sung by a female vocalist (it’s minor, but in a series dominated by male-vocalist themes, it’s a nice change of pace) 2. This song can be taken from either perspective of Merlina or Sonic.

Sonic and the Black Knight song cover in 2024??? AS A DUET?!? My mind is blown this in incredible! I've always thought of this song from exclusively Sonic's perspective, I had never considered how well it also fits Merlina. And to have both of them sing the chorus at one another as if their voices will overpower one another... It's AWE INSPIRING. Thank you so much for sharing this, easily my favourite version of this song~

Hah. Jhett of all people... So, about a year ago, an animator (Graphy) made a ludicrously great animation for Sonic singing "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley, and soon after released an AI-altered version of the song so it properly sounded like Sonic. I remember that, in the comments of that video, Graphy said they'd tried to find someone to collab with, but that it was hard to find someone who could manage to not just voice act like Sonic, but also SING like him. Like, for many VAs, those were two different realms entirely. What I'm saying, who in the world would have guessed that Jhett would be the exception we were looking for? Like, godDANG, he fits well. (Ahh, but let's not forget to credit Izzi here either. Her Merlina singing voice us also amazing out if nowhere.)

Sonic DID say he would become a villain if he decided that was the right decision, so him saying "evils might" kinda fits.

The next Sonic game should honestly have a vocal theme where Sonic himself is singing it because this is something I never thought I wanted.
