A tiny island with a lot going for it: these are my totally unscientific top 5 reasons why you should consider moving to the Isle of Man. This was recorded pre-Corona but I think the points still apply.

  • My parents moved to the Island in the 1970s. My mother told me that early on she went into a shop in Ramsey and before she'd opened her mouth the assistant said "You're not from round here, are you?" My mother said "How did you know?" And the lady replied "You locked your car."

I moved to the Isle of Man in 2017 and everyone is very supportive on the Island
  • I live in Ireland and decided to visit Isle of Man in 2016. It was a completely random decision, I was actually looking at map of Ireland to get any ideas of where to go on trip, and I noticed the island. I loved the 3 days that I spent there, and wished I had stayed for at least one more night. So many fun places for such a small island. After that, I often have dreams of Isle of Man to this day. It doesn't happen with other places that I travel. There's something curious about the island that makes me want to come back and explore more. Thanks for the video, it was an interesting watch.

Have visited the Isle of Man four times in the last twenty years, Absolutely love the place, its like I imagine England was in the 1950s. A kinder place to live.
  • Yes!! We LOVE the Isle of Man❤️ missing it and it’s lovely people. Hoping to visit again soon!! Thank you for your lovely video

I moved here from Jersey (prior to that Kent and London) back in 2007. Took a while to settle in and now live down south. Agree with your comments on the people ...northern friendliness. IoM has really come in to its own during the pandemic (ok we have had to lockdown again because of a few issues with the SPC). And agree, definitely a very, very safe to be; I have two kids ‘ teens who use the bus service between Douglas and the south often late at night and, thankfully no issues at all.
  • yes you spoke very well of the island. i was born there and left in 1994. but going to retire back there soon. very well made video indeed. liked that old gpo telephone van parked on doolish prom.
  • The staff at the Rutland Hotel were so special. Had a great holiday. Thank you! October 2022 Delia Uk. Xxx

I live on Long Island, New York-USA. Great video and tempting to move but family and friends are here. Seems like the ultimate life with 5 great reasons that every place on earth should offer! God Bless ❤️

Thank you for this very good video. Isle of Man seems very like Northern Ireland except we have the same taxes as rest of UK. I would love to visit the island when it is safe to travel again.

I and my family spent 3 weeks on the IoM doing family history. Most of the peeps there were very kind but we did run into a few who were NOT. The car rental guy was a piece of work, and the Fam Hist center lady.... who will not be named.... was extremely rude to us on multiple occasions, as if we didn't have a right to be there searching out our ancestors. And then, we were chased down by some dude on the highway because apparently I didn't turn on my "indicator" (whatever THAT is, haha. Maybe it's my blinker?) while exiting a traffic circle. Not much tolerance for mistakes. But so many others were very nice, including our wonderful air bnb hosts and our church group, who were exceptionally kind to us. Thank you IoM lds ward! You made our stay so delightful. I look forward to going back again sometime!

My husband and I are planning a move from the USA in the next few years. We fell in love with your land as soon as we stepped onto its shores. The lay of the land, the people, the quality of life, and the beauty! Now, if the world can overcome Corona we can push ahead with our plans.

I just realized something a couple of days ago. The tomcat we had when I was a young lad, descended from the island. Yes, it was a 'Manx' cat, no tail at all. I've never known a friendlier feline.
  • @andyprice5882
100% agree with everything you say, I moved here in 1999 and now live in the North of the island, I can't imagine moving back to the UK

I found 43% of my DNA is from Scotland, this is the only place my DNA is pinned. The more I have learned in the last week right down to the Folklore, has been a journey of my own blueprint. I feel so much better. I understand so now the many amazing blessings in my lifetime. I'm grateful! This is my dream to sit and listen to the wind and bird's singing as the trees dance, there. 43% of me would be home again, the other parts 43% Irish with a kiss of Malta. French

Thank you for sharing all this information... I want and seek for calm, peaceful, tranquil, quiet, remote and isolated place(s) (islands)... to escape the crowds. In my country is a mass tourism - concrete & glass (buildings) raising everywhere... In the start of Pandemic (Covid-19) in my country - I started to travel (explore) by YouTube from: Svalbard, Iceland, Faroes... and came to the Isle of Man! As kid from my 3 years of age (only) started to go abroad, cause my dad was a Seaman 30+ years long and my mom took me with her, to be with dad on ship(s). As adult continue to be a professional seaman (sailor), and seen many places, as the whole east coast of Australia from Sydney, Newcastle, Gladstone, Townsville to Darwin (many times), etc. Also I did work in the channel on TransEuropa Ferries (Ostende - Ramsgate). Greeting from Montenegro! PS I got callings (invitations) worldwide from Panama (the west) to Australia (the east)... but I want and seek for something like Isle of Man, Channel Islands, etc.
