German musician explaining: The tune you've selected is some kind of anthem for the Euro 2024 soccer tournament in Germany next month. When Germany hosted the 2006 world cup the original version of that tune was the world cup anthem. Now they are trying to give re-birth by adding some 'spicy' rap. It's that kind of tune radio stations promote heavily atm, but people wouldn't really add to their playlists. That's why the crowd had mixed feelings.

I am German and I have played a lot of sets some 20 years ago in Berlin. I I have to admit, the german crowd is not easy to please. Sorry to say that. Keep up the good work. I am a big fan.

It's so funny you're saying you felt like on an empty field and you couldn't hear the crowd. I'm German and acted as part of an American musical/theater company once which performed for both American and German audiences and whenever there were more Germans attending and it was some comedic play or musical, the reactions in the hall were always way more muted and reserved, way fewer laughs etc, it sometimes felt almost dead to us and it could even challenge our confidence. Backstage my American cast mates were often like "Oh, damn, did we mess up the jokes?! Did they not enjoy it?!" but it always turned out that the Germans audiences liked and enjoyed the shows just as much - they just never showed it as openly and loud, lol. So maybe that was partly just a cultural thing despite it being a festival - or techhouse was just super chill for them, lol. Ever since I saw your Get Closer London set I enjoy every single one of yours. 👌

We were there too and the energy of the crowd wasn’t the best anymore on Sunday but your set was one of my favorite! 😍 We need more of that to ikarus!

hardcore - or more specifically frenchcore is what dr. preacock does in his sets. hes a dutch artist and iconic for his bowler hat. one of the most popular ways to dance to hardcore and its subgenre's is with jumpstyle or 'hakken' - those two originated in the 90's with happy hardcore from djs such as paul estak and 3 steps ahead. some time last year dr peacock made a tribute set to 3 steps ahead which was fully timecoded for lighting and visuals as the audio was also 1 pre-mixed set. personally i think it looked amazing from a lighting designer perspective.

I really enjoyed ur set, was the first time seeing u on stage as well! The Intro Song got me realy hard, i guess the original one was the German Hymn back in 2006 for the World Championchip.
