I tried to get this as simple as possible. As a result, it's only an on/off setup. There's no in-between. There aren't variable values with the arrow keys or wasd keys anyway, so it's fine.
You can change the location of the joystick with the custom block.

Item 1 of outputs is UP
Item 2 of outputs is RIGHT
Item 3 of outputs is LEFT
