Jayson Tatum Basketball Camp

NBA star of the Boston Celtics and St. Louis native, Jayson Tatum recently visited Wohl Recreation Center, where he frequented often as a kid, to give back to the community. He hosted a basketball camp for area kids and earlier this year he invested in the center by giving them a new tech center. This new tech center is a great resource and provides students and community members with an opportunity to utilize the computers for homework and other important needs. Angella Sharpe from STL TV took a visit and spoke with Recreation Commissioner, Evelyn Rice-Peebles as well as Alderwoman of the 26th Ward, Shameem Clark Hubbard. On behalf of Mayor Tishaura Jones, Alderwoman Clark Hubbard presented Tatum with a proclamation declaring September 17 as Jayson Tatum Day in the City of St. Louis. Alderwoman Clark Hubbard and Commissioner Rice-Peebles also surprised two employees from Wohl Recreation Center, Dana Moorehead and Mike Knettles, with a resolution for their tireless work in the community.
