Published 2024-08-06
Sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies and sea surface wind anomalies show the development of the 2002/2003 El Nino based on data from NASA's Aqua and QuikSCAT spacecraft. The wind data has been processed using the Variational Analysis Method (VAM). Note: SST Anomalies and SS Wind Anomalies in the Pacific. Data Collected: 8/01/2002 - 1/21/2003. Animator: Greg Shirah (NASA/GSFC), Jesse Allen (Raytheon). Scientist: David Adamec (NASA/GSFC). Platforms/Sensors/Data Sets: Aqua/AMSR-E, QuikSCAT/SeaWinds.
