About DerWooD’s DIY

I am a self-taught, woodworking hack who builds things out of his 2-car garage. I love creating and building projects. I enjoy the challenges and experience I get from taking on creations well outside my comfort zone. I don’t have any schooling for carpentry/woodworking so I am not an expert. The majority of what I’ve learned has come from DIY experience and watching many of the great creators.

I built a wood shop in our two car garage of our home in Southern Utah. It is not a complete shop but I do have the basics and plan to build off of what I currently have and document the process here on DerWood's DIY. Some of the actions you will see me perform may look unsafe to others. We all learn different techniques when working with dangerous equipment so if you see me doing something that looks dangerous to you, it does not mean you should try it. You are responsible for yourself. I am here to share my woodworking journey with you and to hopefully provide value and entertainment.
