I'm a 1st generation counter-cultural Jesus freak who was embraced by Jesus Christ at the height of the 1967-1977 hippie Californian Jesus Movement revival. I lived in common-purse Christian community through most of the 1970s. My life was changed forever, as in repentance and faith, I discovered that Jesus was far more than 'just' an historical figure, but was calling me to 'forsake all' and follow Him. Over 50 years later, in my native England, I'm still following - and He is still loving.
