The Failings of a Silent Mother is an epic fantasy that focuses on the struggle of nations needing to shed their isolationist values to face oncoming threats. Our protagonists are thrown into the fray during a "bucket list" trip to a forbidden island for their chronically ill friend. During which they mistakenly stumble upon a secret mining operation to extract chitite, the goddess's power made manifest. Slight problem though, it is incredibly unstable and has yet to be successfully extracted at the time our protagonists arrive. One misstep leads to chaos ensuing, ultimately ending in the death of the mining team. This sends our protagonists running from a man who not only wants revenge on the whole world but now, them personally.
