About Michael Dooney

Michael Dooney is the director of Jarvis Dooney, contemporary art gallery for photography, video and related lens based media, which he cofounded in 2013.

Living and working in Germany for over a decade; his initial focus was artists from his home country Australia, providing a platform from which to build their audiences in Europe. His thematic curatorial approach has since developed to include regional and continental artists for a true cross cultural exchange.

Parallel to his work with Jarvis Dooney, Michael is actively involved in exhibition design and curation, portfolio reviews, a jury member in various competitions and grants, as well as regular participant at art fairs and festivals.

A member of the professional association of visual artists berlin, Michael delivers workshops for artists to learn about the art market, as well as offering individual consultations.
